Officejet Pro 6830

Hi

I've got an HP Officejet Pro 6830 which has just automatically downloaded a firmware update that doesn't appear anywhere on HP's support site (or google), plus its been out of warranty for years, so I'm concerned the firmware is not legitimate.

Firmware version shows as PNP1CN2042AR, but the product page shows 1828A as the more recent firmware.  Product page is here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-6830-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5...

I tried to download the previous firmware and restore, but it wouldn't update.  Any suggestions?  I've unplugged it from the network for the time being just in case, but would love to figure out what's going on.

Thanks,

Drew

PS - the HP app points to a page which shows the PNP1CN2042AR firmware with Built Date of 2020-10-16

The automatic updates that came from HP are newer than the ones you can manually download from HP site.

It takes some time to firmware version 2042AR, will be available for download from HP web.
