I bought a new lap top Fall 2025 (HP Elite book) setup with Windows 11. 

I already had a  HP Deskjet F4280 printer (all in one) in perfect condition.

I tried to connect my printer to my new laptop; initialy this new laptop could not find my printer by itself.

So I added the printer on the computer list of printers and scanners manually. Now it shows under the menu "printers and Scanners". However, when I want to print, I get an "error message" and nothing prints.

When I try to understand why, my new laptop tells me the printer is functionnal and there is paper.  So what's the problem? And how could I solve it?

I've looked for solutions on the web, HP sites (123..., HP support, or  HP Smart) but I didn't succeed.

I am far from being a geek and I am looking for a solution that is clear, understandable and relatively easy to perform. I can't believe I would have to throw away an all-in-one printer that words perfectly.
