Hi @Duckydoodle ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to scan a document to your computer using your HP DeskJet Plus 4155 All-in-One Printer, follow these steps:

Step 1: Prepare the Printer

  1. Power on the Printer: Ensure the printer is turned on and properly connected to your computer via USB or WiFi.
  2. Place the Document:
    • Lift the scanner lid.
    • Place the document face down on the scanner glass, aligning it with the guides on the edges.

Step 2: Install or Open the HP  App

If you haven't already, download and install the HP  app:

  • For Windows 10/11: Download from the Microsoft Store.
  • For macOS: Download from the Mac App Store.
  1. Open the HP  app on your computer.
  2. If your printer is not listed, add it by clicking the “+” button and following the on-screen instructions.

Step 3: Scan the Document

  1. In the HP app, select the Scan option.
  2. Choose your scan settings:
    • Source: Select Flatbed.
    • File Type: Choose PDF for documents or JPEG for images.
  3. Click Scan to start scanning.

Step 4: Save or Share the Scan

  1. After scanning, preview the scanned document.
  2. Use the Save, Print, or Share options:
    • Save the file to your computer.
    • Share it via email or other apps.

Alternative Scanning Method Using Built-in Software

  1. Windows: Open Windows Fax and Scan or Windows Scan (downloadable from the Microsoft Store).
  2. macOS: Use the Preview app or Image Capture.
    • Select your printer, adjust settings, and scan.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
