Hi @Boobinky
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Sure! I'd be happy to walk you through the process of installing your HP Smart Tank Plus 650 Series Printer. We’ll go step-by-step, making sure everything is set up correctly.
Before You Start:
- Unbox your printer and make sure you have all the components, including the printer, power cord, ink bottles, and installation guide.
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection if you’re setting it up for wireless printing.
- Your printer should be plugged in and powered on.
Step 1: Set Up the Printer
- Place the printer on a flat surface near your computer or Wi-Fi router (for wireless setup).
- Connect the power cord to the printer and plug it into an electrical outlet.
- Turn the printer on by pressing the Power button on the control panel.
- Install the Ink Bottles:
- Open the printer’s front access door to access the ink tank compartment.
- Insert the ink bottles into their respective color-coded slots.
- After filling the tank with ink, close the access door. Your printer will automatically begin to charge the ink system. This process may take a few minutes.
Step 2: Install Printer Software (On Your Computer)
Option 1: Using the HP Smart App (Recommended)
- Download the HP Smart App:
- If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Windows/Mac: Go to the Microsoft Store or HP’s official website to download the app.
- Mobile Devices: Get it from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
- If you haven't already, download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Open the HP Smart App and follow the instructions to set up your printer. Here's how:
- Add Printer: Open the app, and click the + (plus sign) to add your printer.
- Select Your Printer: The app should automatically detect your HP Smart Tank Plus 650 Series Printer if both the printer and your computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If it doesn’t, select Set Up New Printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: The app will prompt you to connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network. Choose your network and enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Install Driver & Software: The app will automatically download and install the necessary drivers and software for your printer.
Option 2: Using a Web Browser (Manual Installation)
- Visit HP's official support website:
- Go to the HP Support page: https://support.hp.com.
- Search for your printer model (HP Smart Tank Plus 650).
- Download the Printer Software:
- Find the latest printer driver and software for your operating system (Windows or Mac).
- Download and run the installer file to start the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your network and install the necessary software.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
