What I did is I uninstalled your, photo smart software and it took out the drivers. When I try to reinstall the drivers the software is saying everything is installed all but the HP update and the infamies photo smart software. I have tried just about everything you can think off.

Oakey-dokey. The uninstall work, the framework was not properly installed, and that I did not notice.

Let me explain what I did:

  1. Uninstalled Photo Creation, that removed the HP icons on the desktop and the printer stop working wirelessly. Not Cool…
  2. So now I took everything out, so I thought I did. All associated folders, registry entries, image files and removed the printer from device manger and folder. This was done with Everything, Regseeker and OORegEdit. “Just a few third party software” Widows is great. : ). Anyway.
  3. Reinstall software. And to my surprise all the software I thought I removed other than photo creation was still installed, at least that’s what was shown on your installation program.
  4. What I believe my whole problem was, (because before I decided to try HP I installed and uninstalled the software a couple of times), once again a windows problem.
  5. Problem: I was trying to get my laptop to recognize printer through the Control Panel, Devices and Printers. It does not work. Not until I went through “Windows Settings”, “Add Devices and Printers” did it work.
  6. Anyway greenturtle, thank you. As far as I’m concerned this just another Windows issue. Maybe year 43 or 44 a charm.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums. Can you try the following:

Please Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) tool to diagnose and fix your problem

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Nav?h_pagetype=s-926&h_lang=en&h_client=s-h-e016-1&h_keyword=dg-PDU

If that doesn't work, please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software.

Try this Microsoft Uninstaller:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed...

Let us know if that works!
