I still have a 'HP psc 1350 all-in-one' and am trying to make itself useful (mainly 'scanning function')
- My new laptop has no CD-ROM not like all the old laptops used to. This means I cannot install using the CD ('HP IMage Zone Express, Version 1.1, 2005') I still kept in the excellent condition.
- So, I used 'HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.3.1' for troubleshooting but seems no luck
(1) Dr. says 'HP PSC-1300 series printer/scanner is installed.
(2) However, everything but 'Solution Center', 'Registry' HP Scan Flow', 'Digital Image Monitor', 'Front Panel Test', 'Test Scan' are not working(with a sign of exclamation mark). ---> Dr.'s advice is to find a solution or download the HP software.
(3) On the HP website, ironically, only available solution is to download 'HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.3.1'
In conclusion, I am floating on the Möbius strip and I am right back to the starting point, Dr..
I need help and I thank in advance for your help. (Fingers are crossed!)

@VintageUser Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you are unable to perform the scan.
Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.
The Scan basics using the Full Feature Software Printer Assistant (shortcut icon on the Desktop named for the printer) are explained in the "how to" document:
Double check your destination folder - this may be set at the default or it can be changed.
Read over the help / documentation.
If you like, the following software is likely compatible with your printer software, printer, and your Windows Operating System -- both of these programs provide some nice features.
HP Scan Extended – Exceptional free HP scan program: Single, Multiple scans, image and PDF scans, Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary). Download, save, and install to use.
NAPS2 -- Not another PDF Scanner – free program scans PDF files and image(s) as .jpeg or PDF file(s). Includes OCR. Download, save, and install to use.
