@Desos,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Try the Universal Scan driver first:

  1. Download the "HP Universal Scan – Full Feature Software and Driver" under the Windows 8.1 (32-bit or 64-bit) listing ("Choose a different OS") from HP's support page: HP DeskJet 2822e All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.

  2. Install it on your Windows 7 32-bit PC (run the installer as Administrator).

  3. After install, check if your DeskJet 2822e shows up as a scanner device in Devices and Printers and in the HP Scan application.

  4. For printing, you may need to select a generic HP print driver if no dedicated 32-bit Windows 7 print driver is offered. In Devices and Printers, you can add the printer manually and choose "HP Inkjet" or "HP DeskJet 2800 Series" generic driver if available.

  5. If it works for both printing and scanning, great -if not, consider:

    • Upgrading the OS to Windows 10 (32-bit if compatible) or Windows 10 64-bit (if your hardware allows) for full driver support.

    • Using third-party scanning software (e.g., Windows Fax & Scan or a generic TWAIN/WIA app) if scanning works but the HP UI is limited.

    • Using a generic print driver for basic printing only, if the scan driver works but the official print driver doesn't.

  6. You could try a third-party driver that may work (no guarantees, of course -use at your own risk!), found here: Download the HP DeskJet 2800 series (USB) driver for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 (64-bit) for LENOVO -...: look at the first three 63.6.7171.0 download options (Full or Basic Webpack).

Kind Regards,
