@Anatoli1978,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Here are some tips what you can do:

  1. Go to HP's official driver page for this printer series: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-laserjet-pro-cp1025-color-printer-series/model/4052956.

  2. Download the latest driver the site offers for the printer.

  3. In macOS go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners (or equivalent) and add the printer using "Add Printer" using USB or network (if your model is the "nw" version).

  4. If macOS detects a built-in driver (or prompts to download one from Apple) you may try letting macOS handle it automatically.

What to watch out for (important):

  • According to user reports: "hp stopped supporting it at macOS Mojave".

  • The HP driver page shows older macOS versions (e.g., up to macOS 10.14) for which driver support is available.

  • For macOS 12 (Monterey) or later (including 13, 14 "Tahoe"), there is no official guaranteed driver for this model. Many users report printing may not work, or the driver may install but behave unreliably.

  • If the printer uses a USB-only connection (no network) and you're using a newer macOS version, there is a significant risk it may not work properly.

Summarizing:

  • Which exact model do you have?

    • "CP1025" (USB only) or "CP1025nw" (network + USB)?

  • What macOS version are you actually running (14.x "Tahoe", or 13.x, 12.x)?

  • I would advise:

    • If macOS version is older (e.g., 10.14 or below) → use official driver from HP site.

    • If macOS version is newer (12, 13, 14) → caution: driver may not be officially supported. Try the downloaded driver or use AirPrint (if network version) or consider upgrading to a more recent printer model that has native support.

Conclusion:

Look, your CP1025 is an older model. According to an Apple Community thread, and I quote: "The problem is the printer is old and no longer officially supported by HP nor Apple."

  • Even if your printer prints with a workaround, some features are likely not to work (scanning if it were multi‐function, special color controls, etc.).

  • If you use macOS 14 Tahoe (or planning an upgrade soon) and the printer is USB only (CP1025 not "nw"), your odds of success drop significantly.

  • If you depend on reliability (e.g., daily business use), consider a newer printer model that explicitly supports your macOS version and maybe has AirPrint built-in.

Kind Regards,
