@Cassie821, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding User Intervention Notification for HP DeskJet 2700 Series!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The "User Intervention" notification typically indicates that the printer is awaiting action or input due to a variety of reasons such as a paper jam, empty ink cartridges, or issues related to connectivity. Below are steps to help resolve this issue specifically for your HP DeskJet 2700 series printer:

Check Your Printer:

  • Ensure that there are no paper jams. Remove any paper loaded in the tray and check for jams in the printer.
  • Verify that the ink cartridges have enough ink and are properly installed.

Confirm Printer Settings:

  • Ensure your printer is set as the default printer on your laptop. You can do this by going to the Control Panel -> Devices and Printers, then right-clicking your HP DeskJet 2700 and selecting "Set as Default Printer".

Clear the Print Queue:

  • Sometimes documents stuck in the print queue cause the intervention message. You can clear the print queue by going to Devices and Printers, right-clicking on your printer, and selecting "See what's printing". Then, cancel all the outstanding print jobs.

Restart Your Printer and Laptop:

  • Turn off your printer and laptop. Wait for about a minute before turning them back on. This can sometimes reset any issues with the printer.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the HP website, downloading the latest drivers for your HP DeskJet 2700, and installing them on your laptop.

Check Connectivity:

  • Make sure there is a stable connection between your laptop and the printer. You might need to reconnect the device if the connection was lost.
  • If you're using a wireless connection, make sure both your laptop and printer are connected to the same network. You can perform a test print from another device to ensure the printer is connected correctly.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
