Host for 32 bit applications stopped working !
Hi,
Just a little bit of history in case it might help solving my infamous "Host for 32 bit applications stopped working" message.
I have a DELL Inspiron Laptop dating from near 20 years.
At the time, it arrived with all Softwares and Drivers pre-installed.
The installed OS was Windows VISTA Home Premium 32 Bit.
Over time, some years later (maybe somewhere like 2011), the OS has been upgraded to Windows 7 64 Bit.
Some weeks ago, however, I decided to upgrade the OS to Windows 10.
I completed the upgrade, but I rapidly encounter many problems, some of them related to drivers.
So, after a couple of days, I decided to roll back to my Windows 7 OS.
Luckily, the upgrade process had the brilliant idea to save the Windows 7 directory, renaming it "Windows.old".
So, after many hours, my system came back to Windows 7.
Everything went relatively well after this return to Win 7, except for printing.
Even though I never had any printing problems before the upgrade/downgrade (not even any "Host for 32 bit applications stopped working"), thanks to the new infamous "Host for 32 bit applications stopped working", I'm unable to print any document... Not even very basic Black and White text documents.
However, I have 2 iPads and 2 iPhones and they can print normally, like before...
My printer is a HP 3833 and the installed driver comes from the original HP CD supporting all Windows OS versions: "HP OfficeJet 3830 All-in-One Series".
Following recommendations from searches and expert's instructions, I have many times deleted all printers in my Control Panel and reinstalled my OfficeJet 3830 printer without any success except one time after downloading and running the "HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software" from HP, I completed all the process to maybe 99.9% but the process returned the famous "Host for 32 bit applications stopped working" after the process asked me to print a test page.
I don't know if this is a Windows or HP issue, but I know this problem is widespread in the community considering there are hundreds and hundreds of complaints about it when you Google it on the web.
I'm done! I don't know what else I can do. Maybe someone here can help me resolve this issue...???

Thanks for your reply Zoey7886.
As mentioned in my larger paragraph toward the end of my Post, the Printer driver uninstall / re-install is largely suggested on the Internet and has been recommended to me from many sources, including ChatGPT. Unfortunately, I have tried this solution many times with no success! In the process, you can delete any or all the printers listed in the Printers Config window and reinstall the Printer following your suggested solution, but the problem is still present as soon as you try to print to this printer, even though the new printer is listed in the Printer Config Panel !
And seeing the number of people reporting this problem on Google and NO clear results reported, it is rather discouraging...!
Frankly, I would be curious to hear from people struggling with this problem and having succeeded to resolve this issue with the suggested solution...
If you have, I encourage you to reply to this Post!
