I changed my internet provider and my wifi. Now I'm trying to change the network on my HP Smart Tank 7300 printer but getting nowhere. I've spent two days rummaging through HP support and running diagnostics, but nothing is working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @WhichyLady,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To change the network on your HP Smart Tank 7300 printer, here’s a straightforward process to get it reconnected to your new Wi-Fi network. Since you’ve switched internet providers, the printer needs to be connected to the new network manually.
Steps to Change the Network on Your HP Smart Tank 7300.
Reset the Printer’s Network Settings:
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons on your printer for 5 seconds or until the Power and Wi-Fi lights flash.
- This resets the printer’s network settings, making it ready for a new connection.
Use the HP Smart App to Reconnect:
- Download or open the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer.
- Add a New Printer:
- Open the app, and select Add Printer or Set Up a New Printer.
- The app should detect your HP Smart Tank 7300 printer. If not, ensure your printer is in setup mode (the Wi-Fi light should be blinking).
- Connect to Wi-Fi:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your new Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Once the connection is successful, the Wi-Fi light on your printer should become solid.
Reconnect Your Devices:
- Make sure any devices (computer, phone, tablet) you want to print from are also connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Alternative Method: Using WPS
If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):
- Press the WPS button on your router.
- Within two minutes, press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer until the light starts blinking.
- The printer will automatically connect to the network without needing a password.
Once connected, your HP Smart Tank 7300 should be ready to print on your new network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
