- How can I make my prints brighter?

Hello,
I have an HP Envy 5544.
The prints are too dark. In my printer driver property I have no setting "gamma" or "brightness" or "saturation".
I only have draft/normal/optimal quality. Does this mean, that with this printer we not even can change "brightness"?
Thank you.

The printer is unaware of what it is printing.
Printing Preferences does not include photo editing subsets.
What to do?
Use photo editing / view and print software that includes the type of editing you want to apply to the finished photo print.
Check the printer Print Quality in Troubleshooting.

Thank you for the fast reply.
But this question is not only for pictures and photos. I also would like to have my prints brighter, when I print text-documents and tables. You did not answer my question. Please read again my post #1.
Your suggestion could be a workaround for some rare cases. But each print I want to make should be brighter.
So is it true, that this printer does not support the setting "brightness"?
What is responsible for this? The firmware? The driver? Both? Something else?
Thank you.

OK - First post edited - content removed.
You are Correct.
The printing preferences for photo / document printing does not include other than the basic Quality settings.
What else?
Check and make sure the printer is doing the best it can do.

Thank you for this answer.
Nevertheless 2 question remains:
1) What does define what printing preferences a printer offers?
Is it the driver?
Is it the firmware?
Or both?
Or in addition something else?
2) Strangely enough, I can COPY with this printer via display (without PC software). When I copy this way, I can adjust the brightness via the display.
So why is this not also possible when PRINTING?
Thank you.
