Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP software is still anoying and a big argument against your products and on top could not be easily uninstalled as other "normal" software does.

So I want to know how I can get rid of your HP printer software and drivers. Is there a comforable tool other vendors like Brother has or do I need to search everything manually? Because you are not register every software within the application list for uninstalling.

In Detail:

- I want to uninstall the HP Print and Scan Doctor (which has never asked for installation but has nested itself on C drive after execution).

- I want to uninstall HP Smart

- I want to uninstall all HP drivers.

AND I want them to be removed completely and not only remove a folder so I can not see it anymore but there are registry entries and other files all over my disk left.

Hi @Uninstall1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Printer uninstall all HP printer software. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

click here to refer to the document to Uninstall HP printer software and drivers

HP Print Scan Doctor is an executable file and hence is not installed on your computer. That is the reason you do not find the application in your programs list.

If you want to remove the program, you simply delete the HP PSDR from your file location. so, right-click on the HP PSDR icon and select "open file location". Delete the HP PSDR folder to remove the program completely from your computer.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Good luck :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello Gaya1239,

I have a related question, and for purposes of this discussion, lets refer to MS Windows 10 and 11. Perhaps the same question may be posed and answered for Macs as well.

Does HP have a stand-alone software "utility" or "tool" that will go through a person's computer (in my case, a Samsung laptop with Windows 10) and do a *Deep Cleaning and Removal* of anything & everything HP software.  (Please note, no offence is intended).

Of course, the first step is to uninstall all unwanted software by means of traditional Windows "Apps and Features."

My question is specifically this: Does HP have a *stand-alone* software "utility" or "tool" that will go through a person's computer to search for and remove all residual files, folders, registry keys, *.dll files scattered throughout the Windows system directory, Program Files Directories, etc.? I am aware that other software companies have such deep-cleaning tools, Adobe's "Acrobat Cleaner - AcroCleaner_DC2015" to name one.

I hope for and look forward to your response.

Best wishes,

Mark

Hello, your answer is simply wrong.

HP Print Scan Doctor goes deeper into the system as I found an HPPrintScanDoctorService service now, which leads to an additonal C:\Program Files\HPPrintScanDoctor folder.

Please provide a simple uninstaller or removal tool for this **bleep**. Sorry but it's allways a pain in the ass when companies are not able to provide clean install/uninstall routines for their software.

Exactly what I was hopping for too.

HP@Uninstall1,

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate your efforts. As the issue still persists,

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Otherwise you can use the HP Smart App:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675142

Let me know if this helps.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
