Add a printer icon to your desktop in Windows 11:

 

Option 1: Create a shortcut from Control Panel

1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter
2. Right-click your printer from the list
3. Select Create shortcut
4. When prompted, click Yes to place the shortcut on your desktop

 

Option 2: Pin the printer to Start or Taskbar

1. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
2. Click your printer name
3. Click Open print queue
4. Right-click the print queue window in the taskbar
5. Choose Pin to taskbar for quick access

 

Option 3: Create a manual shortcut

1. Right-click on your desktop and choose New > Shortcut
2. In the location field, type:control printers
3. Click Next, name it something like “Printers”
4. Click Finish

This opens the Devices and Printers window directly, where you can access your printer.
