afterwards go here and get the scan tools and other OCR stuff
Duplex is in the printer preferences. When you print, do not select quick print otherwise you are not given the choice of what and how to print.
If you wish, you can install the printer twice and give the second install the name "double sided"
To avoid using colored ink for documents that are mostly text you can re-install your printer using a different name. Likewise you can force landscape for all prints the same way. After installation you set the properties for what you want.

I might also suggest that you prevent windows from managing your printers. If you are not careful, Windows will send the print job to the last printer you used.
