HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 All-in-One Printer

How to I default my officejet 9025 printer to print only in black ink from the front printer screen.  I always have to remember to hit the black ink when printing a copy from the scanner or feeder.  Its hard to remember to do this each time, therefore it print in color unless i remeber to hit print in black ink.

I read through the users guide http://www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06220009.pdf

and did not see any way to setup a colorless copy or scan function. My printer has two buttons for copy: "color" and "black" but the scan is only "scan"

You can easily setup colorless printing and scanning on a PC by adding a duplicate printer.  Use a different name and set the property to black and white (or gray scale).  When printing or scanning select the B&W printer instead of the normal one.

as explained here

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

@flasnake

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to set the Copy Defaults.

EWS can also be used for Webscan.

@BeemerBikeris correct -- The HP Smart application does not, by itself, honor or understand Presets, including those used to select color (or no color).

-----------------------------------------------------

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Copy > Settings > Default SettingsCopy Defaults

Example - EWS - Copy Defaults

EWS_9025_Copy_Defaults_6EWS_9025_Copy_Defaults_6

------------------------------------------------------------------

Webscan – located in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) – No additional software

This option requires a network connection and EWS

EWS > HP Document / How-to

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section How do I manually assign an IP address to my printer?  Items 1-2

NOTE: Webscan feature is not available on Laser printers

If the printer is on the network,

If the EWS feature is available on your printer,

First Time Use Only: Enable Webscan

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Security > Administrator Settings > Enable >> Check box next to Webscan

Click Apply to save any changes

Use Webscan

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Scan > Webscan

Set up Webscan the way you want it - for example, set the Source to ADF

Click Start Scan to scan your document / image using Webscan

After the scan is complete, Save the scan to your computer.

Example - EWS - Webscan
