HP Recommended

I am using Mac Desktop with OS 13.2.1 and the HP Smart App won't open even though I have sent to trash and reinstalled multiple times. I have downloaded from the AP store as well as HP.com.   HP Support is the worst ever.  Spent  3 1/2 hours and all I accomplished was HP passing the buck to Apple then Apple passing back.  I believe there are parts of the Smart App hanging around on my system that are interfering with the new download.  Their Diagnostics  tool is not available for the MFP 281 laser jet.
