I have a DeskJet 2050 all-in-one J510 series printer which is quite old.  It recently stopped working and after trying a number of things without success I decided to uninstall it and then re-install to see if that would solve the problem.  But to re-install it I need the PIN for my printer, and I cannot find that anywhere.  It is nowhere on my printer (I have looked in every conceivable place) and I do not have a Wireless button or Information button because of its age, so I cannot print a page to find the PIN.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could find my PIN?

The location of the PIN on an HP printer can vary depending on the model. Here are some common places to look:

  1. On a sticker: Many HP printers have a sticker on the back, bottom, or inside the cartridge access area with the PIN and other default credentials.
  2. On the printer display: If your printer has a display, you can find the PIN under the wireless settings or WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) settings.
  3. If no display: Press the wireless button and the information button at the same time for 3+ seconds to get a printout with the PIN
  4. In the user manual: The PIN is often listed in the printer's user manual or documentation that came with the device

If admin (Admin) and 12345678 or the above PIN do not allow login, then get a network status printout or ask Microsoft's Copilot

The below is all know about your Deskjet 2050.  Hope I am not oversharing!

I notified a moderator that you may need help resetting the printer.

Software

HP updates software periodically. Downloads shown below may be old. You should always visit the Software and Download page to look for new releases. You may need to select an operating system (OS) first. If windows 11 is missing then use 10. You can go as far back as Windows 7, 64bit to get missing drivers. After selecting the OS click the blue Open all button to view all downloads.

Full function printer drivers can be downloaded here: 510 2050
You can find all of the software here. You should select the OS and then look for the phrase "Open All" and click that. 510 2050
