Hi @BLC28,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble setting up your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw printer and connecting it wirelessly, here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue.

Check Compatibility

  • Ensure that your printer is compatible with your operating system. You may need to visit the HP website to confirm compatibility with Windows, macOS, or any other OS you are using.

Install the HP Smart App

  1. Download HP Smart: Install the HP Smart app from the HP Smart app page (available for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android).
  2. Open HP Smart: Launch the app, and it will guide you through the setup process.
  3. Add Printer: Click on the plus sign (+) to add your printer. Ensure your printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.

Install the Driver Manually

  1. Visit the HP Driver Download Page: Go to the HP Support website.
  2. Search for your Printer: Type in "LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw" to find the support page for your printer.
  3. Select Software and Drivers: Click on the "Software and Drivers" section and select your operating system.
  4. Download Driver: If available, download the appropriate driver. If there is no specific driver listed, try downloading the HP Universal Print Driver.
  5. Install Driver: Follow the installation instructions provided on the website.

Connect to Wi-Fi

  1. Control Panel Setup: Use the printer’s control panel to connect to your Wi-Fi network:
    • Go to the Network menu.
    • Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to connect your printer to the Wi-Fi network.
  2. Verify Connection: Print a network configuration page to confirm that the printer is connected to the correct network.

Check Firewall and Security Software

  • Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block the connection. Temporarily disable these programs and see if you can connect to the printer.

Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer, computer, and router to refresh the connections.

Use USB Connection (if necessary)

  • If you cannot connect wirelessly, try connecting the printer to your computer via USB temporarily. This can help complete the driver installation.

Note:

  • Update Firmware: Check if there are firmware updates available for your printer on the HP Support website.
  • Reset Network Settings: If you're still having trouble, you may need to reset the network settings on your printer. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
