I need to clean my printer and the instructions say to open the inner top. I see an arrow point up on it, but it will not open. How do I open it? Thank you!

Hi @Dcolors,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To open the inner top of your HP Office Pro 9010 printer, you can follow these general steps. Keep in mind that specific models may have slight variations, so refer to your printer's manual for model-specific instructions.

  • Turn off the Printer: Before performing any maintenance, it's always a good idea to turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Locate the Inner Top Cover: Look for the area indicated by the up arrow on the inner top cover. It's usually near the scanner bed or document feeder.
  • Press or Slide to Open: Most printer covers have a latch, button, or sliding mechanism to release them. Try pressing down, sliding, or pressing a button while gently lifting the cover.
  • Check for Obstructions: If the cover still doesn't open, ensure that there are no obstructions preventing it from opening. Remove any paper, debris, or objects that might be blocking the cover.
  • Consult the Manual: If you're having difficulty, refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on opening the inner top cover. The manual should provide detailed guidance and illustrations.

Remember to be gentle when handling printer components to avoid causing any damage.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
