How do I remove a printer from HP Smart on MAC -- I no longer have the printer

I had an old HP Envy which I gave away but I cannot remove it from HP Smart

There are more than one "Smart" applications, services, or locations:

• HP App / HP Smart application -- Print and Scan - Links / Management / Help
• HP Smart / HP Connected -- Where older ePrint OR newer Print Anywhere management
• HP Account > Dashboard -- Not named "Smart" but also a location for your printers and other HP devices
• HP Instant Ink -- Contact  HP Instant Ink Support 

• Printer Recycle, Donation / Donate, or Sale

  Prepare an HP printer for recycling or resale

Select Printer Settings

Scroll down and "Hide Printer" / "Remove Printer"  (Wording might vary)

Hi, I am using HP Smart V18.10.1 on a Mac and cannot remove an old printer not on my network.

If I login into HP on a web page the old printer is not listed as a device.

You are welcome.

I believe you are saying you cannot remove / hide the old / unwanted printer in the HP App / HP Smart application.

AND

The printer is not listed in your HP Account - Dashboard

Were it mine to do -- and I realize it is not -- 

I might uninstall HP Smart > Restart my PC / Mac computer > Go to the App Store and get a new copy of the application to install.

Will uninstall / reinstall of the application fix the problem?

Possibly, it depends on where / how / if the application account data is stored.

Hi Dragon-Fur,

Thanks for your helpful suggestions but I suspect there are some App and/or Cache files that will need deleting along with the App itself as I had already tried this.

I have insufficient technical knowledge to track these down !
