HP OfficeJet 5200 All-in-One Printer
macOS 10.15 Catalina

All I want to do is to set up my printer on my hpsmart.com account, but I'm getting an expired code error that is preventing me from doing so. I don't want to use my HPsmart mobile app each time, because my phone screen is small and I prefer using my MacBook when I have a large number of documents to scan, edit etc. Any suggestions? This is pretty crappy service if you ask me! The chat representative actually gave me the 1-800 number for a medical device company, and the phone rep sent me into a tech help loop. If I would have known that HP was going to give us the shaft right after buying this printer, I would have bought something else. Any workarounds on this issue? Thanks!

@taxcafe

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Older versions of the HP Smart app no longer support the login feature. Go to 123.hp.com to get the latest version of the app for macOS 10.13 or later.

If you are using macOS 10.12 or earlier, download and install HP Easy Start or set up your printer using Apple AirPrint. For more information, go to Printing with Apple AirPrint (Mac).

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
