How do I setup an HP Laser Jet 200 M251 using OS Windows 11 Pro 64 bit? I've run the setup program and it will not load any drivers and it errors out. Is there an alternate driver/software I can load or find that I can use?

@ConspiracyBro, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Setting Up HP LaserJet Pro 200 M251 on Windows 11 Pro 64-bit!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you're encountering issues setting up your HP LaserJet Pro 200 M251 printer on Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, here is a step-by-step guide that might assist you:

Download and Install Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for "HP LaserJet Pro 200 M251".
  • Ensure you select Windows 11 as your operating system before proceeding to download the drivers.
  • Download the latest "Full-feature software and drivers" package available for your printer model.
  • Once downloaded, run the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure your printer is connected to your computer via USB or is available on the same network.

Using Windows Update

  • Sometimes, Windows Update can find an appropriate driver for your printer.
  • Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates. It may find and install a compatible driver for your printer.

Basic or Universal Print Driver: If full-feature drivers are not installing, you might use HP's basic or universal print drivers, which offer basic print functionalities but often work when specific drivers do not. You can download them from HP’s support site.

Manual Installation of the Printer Driver

  • Connect your printer to the computer using a USB cable or ensure that it is properly connected to the network.
  • Open "Devices and Printers" in the Control Panel.
  • Click "Add a printer" and choose to add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
  • Select "Use an existing port" or create a new one if necessary.
  • Choose "Have Disk" and browse to the driver you downloaded from HP's website and select it.

Check Printer Connections

  • Ensure that all physical connections are secure if you are using a USB connection.
  • For network connections, make sure that the printer is on the same network as your computer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
