This is not recognizing my Serial # as valid. HP Smart is showing a printer that I've never owned and will not let me add my correct one.  I just want to talk to a person.  It is not letting me connect to wifi.

Hi @dawnrh2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer not getting connected!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand the frustration you're facing with the HP DeskJet 3755, especially with the serial number issue and connectivity. Let's try to get it sorted out so you can get back to printing.

Verify the Serial Number

Make sure you're entering the serial number correctly. It can usually be found:

  • On the bottom of the printer on a sticker.
  • In the printer settings under "About" (if it's accessible).

If HP Smart is showing a different printer, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app:

  1. Uninstall HP Smart from your device (phone/computer).
  2. Restart your device.
  3. Reinstall HP Smart from your app store.
  4. Launch the app and see if it detects the correct printer.

Remove the Incorrect Printer from HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart.
  • Go to Settings or the Devices tab.
  • Remove the printer that doesn’t belong.
  • Afterward, try re-adding your correct printer using the serial number.

 Reset the Printer's Network Settings

If the printer is not connecting to WiFi, let's reset the printer’s network settings:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for 5 seconds until the wireless light starts blinking.
  2. The printer will reset its wireless settings and be ready to connect to a new network.

Connect the Printer to WiFi Again

  1. Open HP Smart or use the printer's control panel.
  2. Select Setup or Wireless Setup Wizard.
  3. Choose your WiFi network and enter the password.

If it's still not connecting, double-check your WiFi settings (SSID, frequency band, etc.).

Would you like me to guide you further with any of these steps Let me know!
