How do I turn off two sided printing?

Hi @LunaBelle731,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

To turn off two-sided (duplex) printing for Word documents on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e printer using macOS 10.12 Sierra, you typically need to adjust the print settings within Microsoft Word itself. Here’s how you can do it:

Open Microsoft Word: Launch Microsoft Word on your Mac.

Open Your Document: Open the document you want to print.

Access Print Settings:

  • Go to the top menu bar and click on "File".
  • Select "Print" from the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can use the shortcut Command + P.

Adjust Print Settings:

  • In the Print dialog box that appears, look for a setting related to "Two-Sided" or "Duplex Printing".
  • Depending on your version of Word and your printer drivers, this setting may appear under different names, such as "Print on Both Sides", "Duplex Printing", or similar.

Disable Two-Sided Printing:

  • Find the option that controls two-sided printing and set it to "Off", "One-sided", or "Simplex".
  • Ensure that the setting indicates the printer should print on only one side of the paper.

Confirm and Print:

  • Once you have adjusted the settings, review any other print settings you need to change (like paper size or orientation).
  • Click on the "Print" button to send your document to the printer with the updated settings.

Additional Notes:

  • If you do not see the option to turn off two-sided printing in Word, you may need to adjust the print settings through macOS:
    • Go to "System Preferences" on your Mac.
    • Click on "Printers & Scanners".
    • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e printer from the list on the left.
    • Click on "Options & Supplies".
    • Look for a setting related to duplex printing and disable it if necessary.
  • If you're still unable to disable two-sided printing through either Word or macOS settings, it's possible that your printer's default settings or driver settings are overriding your document settings. In that case, check the printer's user manual.

If that does work, I recommend you contact phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
