- Add Your Printer: If your printer is not already added, click on the "+" sign to add it.
- Check for Updates:
- Click on the printer image or the "Printer Settings" option.
- Look for "Advanced Settings" or "Tools" (the exact wording may vary).
- Find and select "Printer Updates" or "Firmware Updates".
- Update Firmware: If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the firmware update.
Using the Printer’s Control Panel
- Turn on the Printer: Ensure your printer is on and connected to the internet.
- Open the Setup Menu:
- From the home screen on the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the dashboard and touch the "Setup" icon.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance:
- In the setup menu, select "Printer Maintenance".
- Update the Printer:
- Select "Update the Printer" or "Printer Updates".
- The printer will check for available updates. If an update is found, follow the prompts to install it.
Using the HP Website
- Visit HP’s Support Website: Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter Your Printer Model: Type “HP Envy 7640” in the search bar and select your printer model from the list.
- Choose Firmware: Select the "Firmware" tab to see if there is a firmware update available for your printer.
