Hi @GoDolphins39,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.

The HP Analytics Touchpoint.sys file is part of HP Touchpoint Analytics, a tool used by HP for diagnostic and system telemetry purposes. If you need to update or manage this file, here's how you can do it:

1. Confirm Current Version

  • Press Win + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter to open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
  • Navigate to the System Information tab and look for HP Analytics or related entries.
  • Alternatively, search for TouchpointAnalyticsClient in Task Manager under the Services tab.

2. Check for Updates via HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant (pre-installed on HP systems).
  • Go to Updates > Check for updates and messages.
  • Install any updates related to HP Support Solutions Framework or HP Touchpoint Manager.

3. Manually Download Updated Software

If HP Support Assistant doesn’t provide updates:

  • Visit the official HP Drivers & Software website: HP Support.
  • Enter your product name (HP ENVY Desktop - 700-414) and select Software and Drivers.
  • Download the latest version of HP Support Solutions Framework or HP Touchpoint Analytics if available.

4. Reinstall or Update Touchpoint Analytics

If the file is outdated or corrupted:

  • Uninstall the Existing Client:
    1. Press Win + X > Apps and Features.
    2. Search for HP Touchpoint Analytics and uninstall it.
  • Reinstall the Latest Version:
    • Download and install the latest version of the HP Support Assistant or HP Touchpoint Analytics tools from the HP website.

5. Advanced Steps for Manual Updates

If you only need to update the touchpoint.sys file:

  • Search for the file under C:\Windows\System32\drivers or use the File Explorer search bar.
  • Visit the HP support page to find updates or ensure your Windows Update is up-to-date:
    • Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.

6. Alternative: Disable or Remove Analytics (Optional)

If you're uncomfortable with HP Analytics or don’t need it:

  • Disable the HP Touchpoint Analytics Service:
    1. Open Services (services.msc).
    2. Locate HP Touchpoint Analytics Client.
    3. Right-click > Properties > Set Startup type to Disabled.
  • Remove the software entirely by uninstalling it via Apps & Features.

Thank you, Irwin.  My apologies for my late reply.  These are great solutions in theory, but when I go to the hp website, login and click to download the latest touchpointanalytics.sys program, I'm prompted to identify my desktop.  Once I do, no download button appears.  I'm out of warranty, but does that prevent software downloads?  Thank you!
