Trying to enter a number in the password sequence on my printer for wireless access.  There there should be an automatic way to connect this device, I'm  about read to throw this printer away and it's been a really great one for years.  But I changed the name of my wireless network and now I don't have access to the printer.  I can barely see the screen, much less get it to switch from alpha to numerical. Thanks

@timmyleeturner, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The password can be put in using the keypad of the printer. Let us follow these steps to connect the printer to the wireless network:

  1. Press the Setup button () on the product control panel.

  2. Press the Arrow buttons () to highlight Wireless Menu, and then press OK.

  3. Press the Arrow buttons () to highlight Setup Wizard, and then press OK.

The Wireless Setup Wizard searches for networks, and then displays them in a list.

  4. Press the Arrow buttons () to highlight the network name (SSID) that you gathered in the previous step, and then press OK.

  5. If prompted, enter the WPA or WEP key:

    1. Use the alphanumeric keypad on the product control panel to enter the passphrase.

NOTE: Make sure that you enter the uppercase (capital) and lowercase (small) letters exactly. Otherwise, the wireless connection fails.
    2. When you finish entering the passphrase, press OK.

  6. Make sure the product successfully connects to the network before continuing to the next step.

NOTE: If a connection error message displays, make sure that the network name and security key are correct, and then follow the prompts to enter the information again.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver. (Skip if already installed)

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: You may also connect the printer using a USB cable and then convert it to wireless using the HP software.

Let me know how this goes.
