I don't know if Google Chrome changed, or if TETONXXXXN002.2322C.00 broke something, but I can no longer print PDF files from Google Chrome on any computer in my house except for ones running windoze.  My wife's pixelbook will not print PDFs and neither will my Linux desktop and laptops from Google Chrome.  On my desktop and laptop I can print PDFs from other apps.  So to troubleshoot, I'd like to try to downgrade the firmware on this printer.  Does anyone have experience in this?  There was an update a month ago to the printer firmware and that might coincide with when the issue started.

Hello Slydog1341,

If everything works except for PDFs in Chrome (even the same PDF file being open in some other app like Adobe Reader), most likely the problem is something with Chrome. Yo can ask Google support for more guidance as you have confirmed every file type you try works even on different operating systems.

Regarding your question on how to manually downgrade your printer's firmware: that is not an option the general public has.

If your printer is still under warranty you can call tech support for more in depth investigation. If your printer is out of warranty you can take it to a certified repair center so they can perform the downgrade if applicable.

I am having the same problem as the original poster. I'm seeing the issue both from iOS devices and Chromebooks. Since the upgrade, PDF files will either not print at all or will selectively print when using the IPP drivers built into these types of mobile devices. Often it shows that it successfully prints, but nothing is ever printed. Everything worked fine prior to this firmware upgrade.

To answer the question of how to downgrade the firmware. You need to find the older firmware update utility file. Open that file with Z-zip and extract the .ful2 file that you will see when 7-zip opens that file. Copy that file to a blank USB key. Power off the printer and insert the USB stick in one of the ports on the printer. Turn the printer on, it will detect that you have  a firmware file to apply.

I believe to make this work you need to have firmware downgrades enabled through the embedded web server of the printer.
