Hi @ArnieCellucci,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If the output page extender on your HP Envy Pro 6458e All-in-One Printer is stuck and won't retract, here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:

Steps to Retract the Output Page Extender:

Power Off the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. This will help prevent any potential damage or injury while you attempt to fix the issue.

Gently Wiggle the Extender:

  • Sometimes, the extender might be stuck due to a minor obstruction or misalignment.
  • Gently wiggle the extender from side to side and try to push it back into place. Do not use excessive force, as this could break the extender.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Inspect the area around the extender to see if any paper, debris, or foreign objects are preventing it from moving. If you find anything, carefully remove it.

Manual Retraction:

  • Some models allow for manual retraction of the extender by pressing or pulling on a specific part.
  • Look for a release lever or button near the extender. Press or move it gently while attempting to retract the extender.
  • If you feel resistance, stop and check again for any obstructions.

Check for Misalignment:

  • The extender might be misaligned, causing it to get stuck. Try to realign it gently by moving it slightly up or down while pushing it back in.

Restart the Printer:

  • After attempting the above steps, plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Sometimes, the printer might automatically retract the extender upon startup.

If the Extender is Still Stuck: Avoid Using Force: Forcing the extender might cause damage to the printer or the extender mechanism. If you're unable to fix it, it's best to contact HP phone support for more options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
