I am being told I’m entering the incorrect serial number in order to reach customer service. I am not. I just want to use the printer I purchased and I need help!!!! It won’t connect to WiFi, won’t work with USB. I bought it 2 years ago and have used it a handful of times.

Answer

HP Support accepts in-Warranty repair requests.

The product might be out of Warranty, in which case the serial number might show as incorrect or unknown.

You can check your product's Warranty status

Open

 Product Home - Printers

Enter the device type and model name of your HP product

Enter your product's serial number in the Warranty Check box.

====================================================

What else?

If "it" is a supported HP printer product, you can ask for help here in the HP Community.

It is needful to provide the product name / product number so someone can decide how best to answer.

Reminder

Do not include the printer's Serial Number as that is considered private information.

Out of Warranty?  What to do...

For those of us who are "Out of Warranty", submitting a Warranty repair request to HP Support is not an option.

Open your device HP Product Home > Select Category Troubleshooting to find help for common issues.

HP Support does not generally provide free service for out-of-warranty devices.

Our HP Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.

Reminder – New Post – Post New Question

When you submit your question to the Community,

Increase your chances of receiving an answer ---

For example,

  • Provide the model of the device  Product Home and the Operating System / version

  • Do NOT include the serial number -- What?  We cannot make use of the information and you should never post private information in a public forum.
  • As best you can, describe the issue for which you are seeking our help.
  • Tell us what you have tried to fix the problem.
