HP Smart Tank 585 All-in-One Printer

Hi all,

Recently the formatter card was replaced under warranty for HP Smartank 585 printer as I was facing frequent Wireless disconnection. While accessing the EWS page the serial number pops out as 0000010 and also the HP Smart app is unable to finish the setup and register the product as the serial number is missing. Is it possible for me to edit serial number through support menu or by some other means i.e. FTP? I would really appreciate the help & support.

Technician that replaced the formatter is responsible for making sure the serial number is correct. There are no service manuals for this product that are available to the general public. Even HP repair centers like mine have no access to service manuals. Maybe things are different in India. However  you will need to contact support and follow up with your original case number and explain that the technician did not do his job properly and they need to fix that.

I came to know about this while finishing setup & registering the printer on HP Smart app as the Error Code: OW_4XX_OWSWS00001 kept on popping up. I have already escalated this issue to HP, and they have scheduled a technician visit soon. Anyways, thanks for your quick response. I really appreciated it.
