The box the printer was in (HP Deskjet ink Advantage 2775) states that it works with MacOS 10.15. I have to use HP Smart to connect. HP Smart states that my computer must have MacOS 11. However, my Macbook can not be updated to MacOS 11. (To old !)
Downloading a driver seems to be impossible. What can I do to connect my new printer to my MacBook?

Hi @RonaldDV,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your MacBook cannot be updated to MacOS 11 and HP Smart requires MacOS 11 to work, you may need to find an alternative method to connect your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2775 to your MacBook. Here are a few suggestions.
Use Built-in Drivers:
- Try connecting the printer to your MacBook using a USB cable. MacOS usually includes built-in drivers for many printers, and this might allow your printer to work without needing HP Smart.
HP Website:
- Visit the official HP website and search for your printer model. Look for a section related to drivers and downloads.
- Download any available drivers or software that are compatible with MacOS 10.15.
Generic Printer Drivers:
- MacOS has generic printer drivers that may work with many printers. Try adding your printer using the "Generic" option when adding a new printer in the system preferences.
CUPS Drivers:
- CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) is the printing system used by MacOS. You can try installing CUPS drivers for your printer. Visit the CUPS website (https://www.cups.org/) for more information.
Third-Party Printing Apps:
- Check if there are third-party printing apps available on the App Store that may support your printer and MacOS version.
Remember to check the system requirements and compatibility information for any drivers or software you download to ensure they are compatible with MacOS 10.15.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
