macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hello,

I wonder if someone could help me, please?

My macOS Sequoia 15.7.2 is connected on the internet to my HP ENVY Inspire 7200e printer - still under warranty.

I would like to connect another  former laptop to the printer as well. It is an OS High Sierra 10.13.6

I am not very tech savvy. Can this be done, and if so, can you please suggest a step by step approach.

Please say if this is complicated and I would do better asking for HP technical support

Many thanks,

Margaret

Hi @MARGARITA17,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you connecting another MacBook running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 to your HP ENVY Inspire 7200e printer can be accomplished with relative ease. Below are step-by-step instructions to help you set up the connection:

Step-by-Step Instructions

Check Network Connection:

  • Make sure your HP ENVY Inspire 7200e printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network you intend to use for your macOS High Sierra laptop. Both devices need to be on the same network.

Download HP Easy Start:

  • Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads.
  • Enter your printer model "ENVY Inspire 7200e" to find and download "HP Easy Start" for your Mac running High Sierra.

Install the Software:

  • Open the downloaded HP Easy Start file from your Downloads folder.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to install the printer software.

Add the Printer to Your Mac:

  • Go to System Preferences on your Mac.
  • Select Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the + button to add a new printer.
  • Your HP ENVY Inspire 7200e should appear in the list if both devices are on the same network.
  • Select your printer from the list and click Add.

Confirm the Printer is Set as Default:

  • In the Printers & Scanners window, ensure your HP printer is set as the default printer if you plan to use it frequently.

Try Printing a Test Page:

  • Open any document and select Print. Choose your HP ENVY Inspire 7200e as the printer and print a test page to confirm the connection.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi Jerry,

I haven't yet fully digested what I can see is a very helpful step-by- step guide - exactly as I had hoped - but I just wanted to acknowledge it and thank you very much for the trouble you took to advise me.  I hope to put your guidance in practice early next week, and if I may I shall come back to you  if I hit any problems.

With many thanks,
