The EWS security settings do not provide an option to disable the annoying PIN request for every EWS access.

True -- the EWS PIN is required to access parts of EWS beyond the EWS home page.

True, too - not everyone is a fan of the added security.

Perhaps Consider...

  • Add the PIN to your password manager -- doing so can reduce (not eliminate) the number of keystrokes and having to manually enter the PIN.  True - The method might only work on some browsers and / or devices.

OR

  • Change the PIN to something not as secure but easier to type.  True - There is a risk that the changed PIN will at some point lock up and require that you do a Factory Reset on the printer to clear it.

There is no option to completely disable the PIN.  As @Dragon-Fur suggests you could add the password to your browser remembered passwords or change it to something easier for you to type.

I owned several HP printers before because of their enjoyable HPLIP Linux support. I never had to enter a PIN to disable WiFi and all the undesired internet features for making the device a simple printer and scanner within my LAN. When it comes to security, I would suggest to disable all this unnecessary connectivity by default, instead of patronising users while doing so.
