Instant Ink and HP+ are two different animals.

HP+ is a service contract as described in my previous post.

Instant Ink is offered as a part of HP+

Instant Ink service is optional with or without HP+.

Having cancelled your Instant Ink contract does NOT impact or change whether or not you have HP+.

HP+ changes the main menu banner color in HP Smart from blue to orange.

Examples - HP Smart - Main menu

HP has changed the way OCR is offered.

HP+ eligible printers -- the "e" versions of the printer model - no longer offer OCR in the HP Scan software.

OCR is no longer embedded in the printer software -- instead it is available as part of HP+ .

The Searchable PDF format is available in HP Smart.
