Hi, I have a M404dw Printer.

I've tried to turn off/disable a number of settings to make the Printer more secure, however I end up having issues (can't print), so I have to restore factory defaults.

Does HP have recommendations on how to go about hardening this printer?

thanks

Can you clarify exactly what you are looking to do? Have you considered having the printer on a vlan?

Using Windows 10 Enterprise on a newer laptop with the latest updates.

There is a printer app where there area number of apps and there is something called Printer Settings.  If I go under that, there are a number of settings.  I've tried to tweak things to harden the printer, however then I can't print.  I didn't know if HP had documentation on what to turn off to harden this printer.

I don't want to do a VLAN, as I don't want to buy another piece of hardware.

I can go thru the URL and try to harden again.

thanks
