We have recently bought an HP Color Laser MFP 179fwg. It is connected via *wired* LAN to our network. I can reach the built-in webserver of the printer. DCHP etc. all works fine.

However, we cannot login into the web site. According to the manual, the initial credentials are "admin" with an empty password. However, this does NOT work.

Browsing the Internet, I found posts from people facing the same problem. However, there does not seem to be solution. Please beware: I am NOT talking about WiFi, WPS or those things. In some other posts, I found that some printer models are supposed to have a label with the serial number and an initinal PIN. The label attached to our printer only shows a serial number.

How do I locate the initial admin password of an HP Color Laser MFP 179fwg?
