Hi @WG4648,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Performing a factory reset on your HP Laser 135wg will restore the printer to its original settings and clear any IP protection settings you might have enabled. Here's a step-by-step guide to perform the reset:
Steps to Perform a Factory Reset on HP Laser 135wg
Turn Off the Printer: Ensure your printer is turned off.
Enter the Service Menu:
- Press and hold the WPS and Resume buttons together.
- While holding these buttons, turn the printer on.
- Continue holding the buttons until the printer's display shows "SVC".
Navigate the Service Menu:
- Use the arrow keys to navigate to the Factory Reset option. This might also be listed as Reset Menu or Service Mode depending on the printer's firmware.
Perform the Reset:
- Select the Factory Reset option and confirm your selection by pressing the OK or Enter button.
- The printer will begin the reset process. This may take a few minutes.
Restart the Printer:
- Once the reset is complete, the printer will restart automatically. If it doesn't, turn it off and then on again manually.
Reconfigure the Printer:
- After the reset, you will need to reconfigure your printer settings, including connecting it to your Wi-Fi network and setting up any custom preferences.
Additional Steps if Needed
If the above steps do not work, you might need to access the printer’s embedded web server (EWS) or use the HP Smart app for additional reset options:
Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Connect your printer to the network using an Ethernet cable.
- Print a configuration page to find the printer's IP address.
- Enter the IP address into a web browser to access the EWS.
- Navigate to the Settings or Administration section and look for a factory reset option.
Using the HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer.
- Follow the app instructions to connect to your printer.
- Look for reset or restore options within the app settings.
If you continue to experience issues or the reset does not resolve the problem, contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
