Welcome to the HP Community --

  1. Load paper
  2. Alert the printer to the paper size / types (EWS)
  3. Required for Windows -- Install the full driver printer software (ask if you need information)
  4. Set Printer Properties to use the installed HP driver and not the IPP / Microsoft driver
  5. Set up the job configuration for envelope printing

========================

1)  Load Paper / Load Media

Open

 Product Home - Printers

 Enter the device type and model name of your HP product

OR

 Select a saved product from HP Account Dashboard

  • Open Category Setup & User Guides
  • Find and open the user guide for your printer
  • Search the document for "load paper" or "load media" and / or "envelope"
  • Refer to the instructions in the manual > Load envelopes into the intake tray on your printer

Next,

==============================

2)  Printer - Paper Size / Type - Tray and Paper

Alert the printer to the paper loaded in the tray.

If your printer has more than one tray, pay attention to which tray(s) support which paper sizes and paper types.

Notes

Depending on the printer model, the Printer Control Panel touchscreen might provide access to Paper Size / Type settings immediately after the paper is (re)loaded into the appropriate printer intake tray or when the tray is opened and then closed.

OR

If the printer is on your network, use your browser and the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view / update the paper size / paper types.

- Reminder -

If asked enter the printer’s PIN number –

The default PIN might be located on the back or inside the printer (ink access area).

EWS – Tray and Paper Management / Paper > Trays

Classic EWS - InkJet Printers / Select other printers

Open your Browser

Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper (Management)

Select / Adjust settings for Paper Size / Type

Model and EWS version Dependent:  Advanced section

Click Apply to save changes

3)  Printer Software - Full Driver

Install the full driver printer software

Ask if you need additional how-to information.

=====================

Prerequisite / Pre-Work completed:

4)  Printer Properties - Advanced > Driver

Envelopes generally do much better using the printer relevant full driver AND having Printer Properties set to use that driver.

Example - Windows - Printer Properties > Advanced > Driver

Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners

Select Printer from list

Select Printer Properties

Tab Advanced > Section Driver

Select the installed HP Driver
