How to print labels on my hp 6100 printer

Welcome to the HP Community --

Labels print just like other documents --

The caveats are also the same --

For example,

===================================

Paper Size

Standard label paper sizes include (based on your location on the planet) A4 or Letter.

Make sure your Printer is aware of the Paper Size / Type settings --

If you are printing labels on smaller paper, perhaps 4x6 inch paper that includes a few labels aligned vertically on the sheet, then the Paper Size / Type -- Tray and Paper  Paper Size setting should be adjusted for that paper size.

Paper Size is addressed / checked / modified in both the printer (EWS) and in the job setup / configuration.

General Example - Paper Size / Type - Tray and Paper

===================================

Paper Type

Most labels print as "Plain paper".

Notable exceptions can include anything "Cricut" - If the backside of the paper is "slippery", the rollers might not grab the paper correctly.  No, I don't have a solution, though I've read about all sorts of "workarounds" -- Check with Cricut or perhaps one of your social media account(s).

Paper Type is addressed / checked / modified in both the printer (EWS) and in the job setup / configuration.

===================================

Document

Label documents tend to come in two flavors:

  • Word -- or Word-ish -- programs that create a Word like document
  • PDF   -- PDF is a standard document type, often Exported from an original Word document

Older Example1 - Adobe Reader - PDF - 4.x6 inch Label Document

Older Example 2 - Adobe Reader - PDF - "A4" / Standard Size - Label Document
