The paper tray does not accommodate 8½ × 14" paper, yet HP's specifications indicate: "Media sizes, custom (U.S. standard) — Simplex:3x5 to 8.5x14; Duplex:3 x 5.5 to 8.5 x 12.2 in"

I bought this printer a few days ago with the expectation that it could print to 8½ × 14" paper, which capability I require.

So where does the 8½ × 14" paper load?

Not sure as the user guide is unclear, but on many of these smaller printers you load the legal in the tray and close the tray as far as you can but it will hang out the front.

Yeah, I tried that. No go.

Was on a phone support call for 2h 10m and the tech and an escalation tech could not resolve. The specifications say "up to 8.5x14," but I don't think the driver, or print preferences, or any customization will allow this printer to print a 14" page. The specifications are simply wrong

And while they were remotely controlling my computer screen, they've pooched my system fonts and I think she just hung up on me because she knew she was at a dead end & HP wouldn't do anything for me…

The printer goes back to the store and never another HP—
