HP Photosmart--HP Envy 7640
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I replaced a malfunctioning Photosmart C6380 with an HP Envy 7640. Since the Envy uses HP Printer Assistant, I have no need for the HP Digital Imaging Monitor. But the monitor still appears in my systray. It won't open, but will show the software version. Control Panel and the Start bar does not show this monitor so I can not remove it there. A search of my OS shows no such program, yet there it is in my systray all the time. I can right click it in the systray, and select close, but next reboot and it's back.  Any idea how I can remove this without damaging my new printer software?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Can you try this:

1.  Ctrl + Alt + Del  from your PC and select "Task Manager"

2. Under Task Manager, go to "Startup" tab

3. Find the Systray and select "Disabled".

4. Reboot system

Hope that helps!

That seems to have stopped it from loading. Thanks.

I am still puzzeled by the fact that I can not find the hpqtra08.exe file anywhere on my system so I could just delete it.
