Hi @Wondering80

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To rename your HP printer, you can follow different methods depending on whether you're using a Windows PC, a Mac, or a mobile device. Here are the steps for each:

For Windows PC

  1. Open Settings:
    • Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
  2. Devices:
    • Click on Devices and then select Printers & Scanners from the left sidebar.
  3. Select Your Printer:
    • Find your HP printer in the list, click on it, and then click on Manage.
  4. Printer Properties:
    • In the Printer Management window, click on Printer Properties.
  5. Rename the Printer:
    • At the top of the Printer Properties window, you’ll see the printer's name. Change it to your desired name.
  6. Apply:
    • Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.

For Mac

  1. Open System Preferences:
    • Click on the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
  2. Printers & Scanners:
    • Click on Printers & Scanners.
  3. Select Your Printer:
    • Click on your HP printer in the list on the left.
  4. Rename:
    • Right-click (or Control-click) on the printer name and select Rename. Type in the new name you want.
  5. Confirm:
    • Press Enter to confirm the change.

For Mobile Devices (Using HP Smart App)

  1. Open HP Smart App:
    • Launch the HP Smart app on your mobile device.
  2. Select Your Printer:
    • Tap on your printer to open its details.
  3. Printer Settings:
    • Look for an option like Printer Settings or Manage Printer.
  4. Rename:
    • Find the field for the printer name, edit it to your desired name, and save the changes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
