I've forgotten the EWS password for my printer. Holding down the wireless and cancel button for 3 seconds doesn't reset it and the default password is not accepted. Could I be DM'd the instructions to reset the EWS password or to factory reset the printer?

Thanks for your return,

You will need to follow the instructions below to solve this issue:

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. Press and hold down the Down Arrow and the Cancel buttons.
  3. Hold the buttons when you turn on the printer.
  4. When the Attention light turns on, release the Down Arrow and the Cancel buttons.
NOTE: It takes about 60 seconds before initialization process begins.
  5. The initialization starts.
  6. When the initialization completes, the printer enters the generic printer mode.

I remain at your disposal in case of need.

Hello,

Try the following solution to reset the printer to the factory default settings:

  1. Open the HP Printer Assistant application. On the Windows desktop double click on the icon of your printer "HP LaserJet MFP M28-M31".
  2. Click on the Print & Scan tab, and then Print.
  3. Click on HP Device Toolbox.
  4. Click on the System tab, and then click on Service.
  5. Click on Restore defaults, and then OK.

I remain at your disposal in case of need.

This just brings me to the same page as the EWS. I need a password that I do not remember and seemingly cannot reset. I cannot access any of the printer's config.

Sorted, I can now access the EWS and change the password while I'm connected via USB.

Thanks so much.
