Hi @sbjz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reset the factory settings on an HP Envy 5530 printer, follow these steps.
- Turn on the Printer: Ensure the printer is powered on. If it’s not, press the power button to turn it on.
- Access the Control Panel: On the printer’s control panel, press the “Setup” button (it often looks like a wrench or gear icon).
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance: Use the arrow keys to navigate to “Printer Maintenance” or “Tools” (this option might vary slightly).
- Select Restore Defaults: Choose “Restore Defaults” or “Restore Factory Defaults” from the list of options. Confirm the selection if prompted.
- Wait for the Reset to Complete: The printer will reset to its factory settings. This process might take a few minutes.
Important Note: If your ink cartridges are dry or empty, the printer might not be able to complete certain functions, like printhead cleaning or alignment. You may need to replace or refill the ink cartridges to fully utilize the printer’s features after the reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
