I noticed that when I printed a status report, that my Admin password is not set. How do I go about setting this? To be clear, this is for the printer itself and not the network password.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting HP.
As I get you would like to know how to set up the Admin password on the printer.
I would first like to tell you that if you set a password, please ensure it rememberable as if the password is forgotten then you would need to Factory Reset the printer and it will delete all the settings and other data on the printer.
The best way to set up admin password is via the printer's EWS.
As the printer is connected on the network, get the IP address of the printer first.
Access EWS of the printer just to confirm if the PC and the printer and communicating to each other.
On the Printer Home Screen, select Set Up.
Select Network Set Up,
Select Wireless Settings.
Look for View Wireless details, select it.
The printer here displays the IP Address. (e.g - 10.0.0.23,,, 192.168.2.3)
Make a note of the IP Address.
Open any Web Browser and just the IP address in the browser address bar and hit enter.
The Printer page should open.
If the printer page opens it means the PC and the printer are communicating to each other.
Go to the Tools Tab.
Select Security>
Select Password and enter the password there.
It might re direct to a secure page, if you receive message to continue to the page, please do that and then enter the password and apply.
For any further assistance please reply to the post and I will be very glad to help you further.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
