The Install error - 0x800f020b usually happens when Windows Update or the HP driver installer tries to install a printer driver for a device that is either not connected or not detected properly. Here’s how you can fix it:
1. Check the Printer Connection
- Make sure the HP LaserJet P1102w is turned on and properly connected via USB or Wi-Fi.
- If connected via USB, try a different USB port.
- If using Wi-Fi, check if the printer is connected to the same network as your PC.
2. Remove & Reinstall the Printer Manually
Remove the Printer:
- Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on HP LaserJet P1102w and select Remove Device.
- Restart your PC.
Reinstall the Printer:
- Open Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner and let Windows detect it.
- If not detected, click "The printer that I want isn't listed" and follow the manual installation steps.
3. Manually Download and Install the Driver
- Go to HP’s official website: HP Support
- Search for LaserJet P1102w and download the latest Windows 11 drivers.
- Run the full feature driver installer and follow the setup instructions.

4. Install the Driver via Device Manager
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Printers or Unknown Devices.
- Right-click on HP LaserJet P1102w and select Update Driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list of available drivers.
- Select the HP LaserJet P1102w driver and install it.
5. Run Windows Printer Troubleshooter
- Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot → Additional Troubleshooters → Printer.
- Select HP LaserJet P1102w and let Windows try to fix the issue.
6. Install the Printer in Compatibility Mode
If the driver still won’t install:
- Right-click the downloaded driver file and select Properties.
- Go to the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 10/8.
- Click Apply, then OK, and run the installer again.
