Hi @DCGorman

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Let us follow these steps to turn off automatic updates on the printer:

Access the EWS page of the printer

1. Obtain the printer's IP address by printing a Network Configuration Page

  • On the printer's control panel, press the Wireless button  and the Information button  at the same time.
  • Both a Network Configuration Page and a Wireless Network Test Report print.

2. Go to Google Chrome or any other web browser on the PC, empty the address bar, enter the IP address in the address bar and click Go.

3. If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.

4. The EWS page of the printer opens.

5. Go to Tools > Printer updates > Firmware updates > Scroll down and make sure the 'Install updates automatically' box is unchecked.

6. Click on Apply and close the page.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
