OfficeJet Pro 9020

Does anyone know how to turn off cartridge protection on a HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 series printer?

There doesn't appear to be a setting for it in the printers webpage configuration .

Welcome to the HP Community --

Reminder to those reading:

Where available, Cartridge Protection is not the same thing as Cartridge Policy as might be noted in, for example LaserJet Enterprise models.

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Supplies > Supply Settings > Cartridge Protection = OFF or ON

The Cartridge Protection feature permanently protects cartridges for use in only one fleet of products or product to help prevent theft.

If, after cartridges have been protected, they are moved to a device outside the fleet (fleet based) or to a different printer (printer based), these cartridges will be identified as protected and will have to be replaced to continue printing.

Note:

When you turn on this feature, all cartridges installed in the printer will be protected. However, if you turn off this feature again, these cartridges will remain protected. Only cartridges installed afterwards will not have cartridge protection enabled.

Sorry. I'm after the setting that turns off the warning about non-genuine ink.

No need to apologize - lots of people make the same assumption.

I did suspect you are trying to get around using HP cartridges.

Some "third party" refill / remanufacture companies do not use HP chipped cartridges.

Now for the "shoot the messenger" information...

There is not a legal way to bypass the printer's protection against using non-HP-chipped cartridges.

This model series is protected by Dynamic Security.
